The Durham Rec Giving Tree Project is a Durham Parkview 4-H and community-based program to help replace old and fallen trees throughout the Durham Community Park and the other DRPD parks.
Each year, Durham Community Park loses an average of 1-5 trees due to inclement weather, drought and age of the trees. During the 2021/2022 winter season, the park lost 10 trees (due to weather, safety or age-related issues). Midway park lost a total of 3 trees due to age and weather.
The Giving Tree Project will help keep Durham Community Park (along with the other DRPD parks) beautiful and shady. With the help of the Durham Parkview 4-H Club and community members, the parks will continue to be enjoyed for decades to come.

For Branch, Crown and Grove Tiers, Business or Individual's name will be added to a plaque displayed at Durham Community Park.
