Facilities

In March of 1975, DRPD Board of Directors approved purchase of land from the Durham Unified School District for the purpose of building a community pool. The pool was built, at a cost to the District, of approximately $310,000 and was officially opened to the public in June of 1976.

Since that opening day 45 years ago, The Dwight Brinson Swim Center has been the home to a long list of District sponsored aquatics programs, as well as the Durham Dolphins and Durham High School Swim Teams.
